Trans direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is an emerging neuromodulation technique that can be self-administered at thecomfort of the patient’s home. tDCS uses a weak electric current to stimulate the prefrontal cortex with the aim of altering the nerve activity of the brain. The treatment is delivered by a small, portable battery-driven device. tDCS has shown to be effective for the treatment of depression.

While using the tDCS device, attendance to the clinic is not required and patients can be trained to self-administer treatment under the guidance of our clinical team.

To be eligible for tDCS, the patient must meet the below criteria:

Patients who meet the following criteria are eligible for the tDCS Treatment

Be at least 18 years of age;

Be diagnosed with major depressive disorder

Failed to respond adequately to at least two antidepressants of adequate dose and duration

to treat the current moderate to severe depressive episode

The patient cannot attend a clinic during business hour

The patient lives too far from one of the clinics / rural area

The patient to have completed at least one full course of TMS at one of the clinics (if they are in metro area and cannot attend due to work commitments)

Patients not eligible for TMS due to seizure risk (eg history of epilepsy),

patients unable to tolerate TMS
